American Sign Language (ASL) Advisory Board

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) has formed an American Sign Language (ASL) Advisory Board. As part of our ongoing work to support ASL programs, the K-12 Program Areas section in the Curriculum and Instruction Division, and the Sensory Support and Assistive Technology section in the Exceptional Children Division, have been working to better understand what the needs are for growing ASL programs.

The ASL Advisory Board has been created so that each member brings a unique perspective to the table which will lead to a collaborative and cohesive approach to supporting ASL programs across North Carolina. If you would like to see the current ASL Advisory Board list, it is viewable at http://bit.ly/NCASLBoard.

In 2015 - 2016, the ASL Advisory Board met virtually on three dates: October 19, February 15, and June 14.
