Introduction to LinguaFolio for Teachers
This webinar prepares teachers to start using LinguaFolio®, a free, proficiency-based formative assessment tool, with their students to document language proficiency, improve intercultural competencies, set learning goals, and manage language learning. Resources for different types of materials and versions will be shared, and online networking opportunities will be discussed.

This webinar provides administrators (superintendents, coordinators, principals, department heads, etc.) with information about LinguaFolio®, a free, proficiency-based formative assessment tool for language learning. LinguaFolio® lets teachers guide students on how to document language proficiency, improve intercultural competencies, set learning goals, and manage language learning. Resources and training materials will be shared, and online networking opportunities will be discussed.

DPI World Languages Update
This Department of Public Instruction (DPI) information session will focus on state policies, national projects, and international initiatives. Classroom resources and strategic planning materials to support the North Carolina World Language Essential Standards will be shared, along with professional development opportunities for the various programs across the state in classical, dual and heritage, and modern languages.

DPI’s New Online Module about Implementing the World Language Standards

This Department of Public Instruction (DPI) session will highlight the new online module about implementing the World Language Essential Standards. The module is designed for World Language teachers, and administrators who work with them (department heads, principals, coordinators, professors, etc.), as a way to access free, on-demand professional development. The module can be completed individually or as part of a professional learning community, and it is worth 1 CEU or 10 contact hours.

Using Data to Advocate for World Language Programs
This Department of Public Instruction (DPI) session will showcase the statewide data available for World Language programs and how it could be used to support, build, or expand a variety of World Language offerings. Handouts created for overall K-12 enrollment and language-specific analyses will be shared, along with materials showing the impact of language study on standardized test scores. The focus will be on using this information locally.
