The DPI World Language Quarterly Updates will include:
  • information relevant to all World Language programs;
  • details for specific programs (ex. Classical Languages, Dual & Heritage, Modern Languages);
  • updates on international, national, regional, and state initiatives; and
  • information to be shared with World Language teachers on topics such as
    assessing proficiency, course codes, evaluating performance and programs, implementing the World Language Essential Standards, etc.

The Supporting Leading-Edge Language Instruction webinars are designed for K - 20 World Language educators implementing the World Language Essential Standards as they build, expand, and/or sustain a variety of programs: Classical Languages, Dual & Heritage, and Modern Languages.

These webinars include a variety of resources that educators could adapt for local implementation and professional development training, such as the College Board’s AP World Language and Culture Interactive Online Modules and NADSFL’s Principles of Effective World Language Programs document.

The DPI LinguaFolio Updates will include:
  • information relevant to all language educators who are researching and/or implementing LinguaFolio in classrooms;
  • details for specific programs [ex. English as a Second Language (ESL) or any World Language program: Classical Languages, Dual & Heritage, Modern Languages];
  • updates on international, national, regional, and state initiatives; and
  • information to be shared on how LinguaFolio aligns to and supports proficiency - based standards like the English Language Development Standards and the World Language Essential Standards.





All K - 20 World Language administrators, teachers and instructors are welcome.

Note: Every school is encouraged to have at least one World Language educator attend these webinars so that information can be shared locally.

The World Language Essential Standards (WLES) Webinars are part of the World Language Webinar Series designed for World Language Educators implementing our state’s standards in their classrooms.

Each of the WLES Implementation webinars will focus on a topic related to implementing our state’s standards more effectively, such as reflecting on student work from an Essential Standard or focusing on a particular Strand.
